Some education experts argue that early childhood is a period of very rapid and fundamental development for later life. Growth can be interpreted as a change that is quantitative or implies a change in body size and structure so that it involves more physical changes. In addition, growth is also seen as a physiological change as a result of the process of maturation of physical functions. The result of this growth is an increase in the length of the bones, especially the arms and legs, an increase in height and weight, and a more complete arrangement of bones and nervous tissue. This growth will stop after maturation or maturity in the individual.

In contrast to growth, development is a qualitative change, namely the functioning of the organs of the body. Development can also be said as a sequence of changes that influence each other between physical and psychological aspects and form a harmonious whole.
